Carles Pérez Testor ( https://orcid.org/0000-0002-3037-2062 ) has a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery (UAB), Doctor in Medicine and Surgery (UAB), Specialist in Psychiatry and Psychotherapist. He is Professor Emeritus of the Ramon Llull University (URL) at the FPCEE Blanquerna and Teaching Supervisor (FEAP). At the URL he has taught in the Degree in Psychology, in the Degree in Philosophy, in the Master’s Degree in General Health Psychology, in the Master’s Degree in Family Therapy and in the Doctorate Program in Psychology. He has also collaborated in the Family Master’s degree at the universities of Sacro Cuore in Milan (Visiting Researcher), Deusto (Bilbao), Seville, the Basque Country (Donostia) and Coruña and in the Philosophy Degree at the Ateneu Universitari Sant Pacià in Barcelona.
He has been Vice Dean of Research and Doctorate at the FPCEE Blanquerna from 1995 to 2002, Member of the Research Commission (URL) from 1995 to 2019 and of the Governing Board of the URL from 2002 to 2019.
In 1998 he founded the Couple and Family Research Group (GRPF) and is PI until 2022. He is currently a researcher for the group. He has participated in 4 European projects (European Commission, Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme, REC) focused on gender violence, empowerment of the parental role and the impact of online consumption of pornography on adolescents, being coordinator in some of them. He has also participated in 2 R&D projects, being coordinator in one of them. He has supervised 25 doctoral theses and has published more than 150 articles, 4 books and more than 25 book chapters. All the research carried out is in the field of couples and families, highlighting couple conflicts, family violence, parental functions and international adoption.
He has worked as a psychiatrist and psychotherapist at the Fundació Vidal i Barraquer (FVB) in Barcelona, from 1984 to 2019, having held responsibilities as medical director of the FVB, director of the Medical-Psychological Center (FVB), coordinator of the Couples Unit and Family (FVB) and director of the University Institute of Mental Health of the FVB (URL). He currently practices as a doctor in free practice (MEL), Couple and Family psychotherapist and Supervisor of the Couple and Family Unit (FVB). He is president of the Spanish Association for Research and Development of Family Therapy (AEI + DTF) and vice president of the International Network of University Institutes of the Family (REDIUF). He has been president from 2008 to 2020 of the European Network of Family Institutes (REDIF).
