Member of the Committee of the Forum for adolescent psychoanalysis (European Psychoanalytical Federation EPF).

Founder of many Societies and Associations in the field of psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. Promoted study and research groups, has also coordinated and organized many congresses, conferences and seminars.

1987 Founding member of the Italian Society of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy of Childhood, Adolescence and the Couple (SIPsIA).

1999. At the invitation of the President of the European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the Public Sector (EFPP), was part of a commission of experts to study the modalities and requirements for the constitution of the IV section of the EFPP on psychoanalysis of Couple and Family. Actual member of the EFPP.

2000 Founding member of the Italian Society for Couple and Family Psychoanalysis (PCF), of which was president from the date of its foundation to 2022.

2006 Participated in the co-founding of the International Association of Couple and Family Psychoanalysis (IACFP) and was the first director of the International Review of Couple and Family Psychoanalysis of the International Association of Couple and Family Psychoanalysis (IACFP/AIPCF).

BACKGROUND:

Early in the career, studied family and couple psychotherapy with a systemic orientation.

Learned systemic psychotherapy with many important Psychotherapists including: Whitaker, Minuchin, Laperriere. From 1973 until the 1980s, worked actively in the systemic field and in 1976 was a founding member of the Centre for the Study of Systems Communication – Family Therapy in Childhood and Adolescence, which in 1980 became the Institute of Family Therapy (I.T.F. – via Reno, 30 – Rome). In 1982, was co-author, with Andolfi, Menghi e Saccu, of the book Behind the Family Mask (Brunner Mazel, New York).

1976-77, 1977-78 Did teaching work at the Faculty of Medicine of the Catholic University of the Sacro Cuore in Rome, in the Family Therapy Training Courses jointly organized by the School of Specialization in Psychiatry and the Family Psychotherapy Service.

In 1986 – Founding member of the Italian Society of Family Therapy (SITF) for which was secretary of the Admission Committee until 1988.

She founded and co-directed the journal Terapia Familiare.

1986 – full member of the Italian Society of Psychology and Relational Psychotherapy (SIPPR).

1990 – member of the European Family Therapy Association (EFTA).

Abandoned the systemic approach quite early to devote herself to the psychoanalytic model.

From 1976-1988 was supervised on parental and conjugal couples with Dr. Giannakoulas, a member of the British Psychoanalytical Association.

For many years, has been doing supervision at the Reverie Therapeutic Community for young psychotics. In the past at the ‘Tangram’ Therapeutic Community. In both of these facilities, she was involved in multi couple therapy for parents.

• Completed medical school at the Università Cattolica in Rome in 1972
• Specialized in Child Neuropsychiatry at the Università La Sapienza in Rome in 1976
• Qualified as Psychotherapist of children and adolescents at ASNE-SIPsIA in 1984

• Psychoanalyst expert in children and adolescents acknowledged by IPA since 2002
• Psychoanalyst with training functions at SPI since 2007
